The considerably restyled 2013 Nissan Altima keeps its eye on the prize - winning over the midsize sedan market share.
What's under the hood might surprise you. The 2013 Nissan Altima's 2.5-liter engine is packing 182 horsepower. It also has valve timing cam-phasers tickling intake and exhaust sides. Engine drag is reduced by a variable-flow intake manifold and smart-charging alternator. This produces the best fuel efficiency in its class, excluding hybrids or diesel powered engines. There's also the optional V-6 engine with 270-horsepower with a freshened CVT to bump up the MPG.
It is offered in the base Altima 2.5 S trim, as well as the upgraded Altima 2.5 SV and the top-of-the-line Altima 2.5 SL. Features for the base version include a six speaker stereo system, dual exhaust outlets with chrome-tipped finishers, and Nissan Intelligent Key. The SV adds 17 aluminum-alloy wheels and a USB connection port for iPods. For the ultimate in lavishness, the SL adds many features including a power sliding moonroof, LED taillights, and a Bose© Premium Audio System with 9 speakers. The Technology Package includes a 7.0 color touch-screen monitor with voice recognition, Blind Spot Warning, and more. Additional accessories like a spoiler or splash guards are available for a small upgrade.
The interior is contemporary looking, quiet, and attractive. New for the 2013 model year is a three-spoke steering wheel that adds to the overall aesthetic of the inside cabin.
The 2013 Nissan Altima is premium quality without the premium price tag. It's equipped with technology that you really want and delivers the gas mileage you need.
